Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc. manufactured and supplied this pre-engineered steel building for a client in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, in May of 2015.

Offering uncompromised strength and undeniable street appeal, the metal building now serves as the corporate headquarters of Grande Prairie’s Maximum Tank Truck Services, which maintains a fleet of more than 60 vehicles and employs more than 100 workers from the surrounding community. This building, which houses the company’s main shop and office quarters, sits on an expansive, 13.9 acre parcel and spans roughly 5,000 square feet of space.

A Productive, Dependable Workspace

Maximum Tank Truck Services starting using this new facility in January of 2016, after relocating from its old headquarters in an effort to streamline efficiencies and increase staff productivity. The new space enables the transportation and heating and steaming services provider to expand its reach even further within the surrounding oil field industry.

Part of Canada’s Peace River Country, Grande Prairie sits within northwestern Alberta. The community lies about 465 kilometers northwest of Edmonton and about 714 kilometers outside Calgary.

Building Specifications

Comprised of premium-quality steel components and erected by E.H.I. Elite Holdings, this building delivers the strength and stability such an operation demands, with an overhead crane and 10 separate shop bays serving as key characteristics. The main building, Building A, boasts a finished size of 100’x210’x24/24’, while (2) connecting buildings, Building B and Building C, both of which feature stucco wall finishes, stand 62’x40’x23.5/23.5’ and 26’x8’x25.75/25.75’, respectively.

A mezzanine serves as another addition, giving business owners even more square footage, while (43) framed openings further enhance accessibility, providing ample room to move trucks in and out. Distributed throughout the shop and office space are (10) 3’4”x7’2” walk door openings, (1) 6’4”x7’2” walk door opening, (16) 16’x18’ overhead door openings, (2) 6’x11’ overhead door openings, (12) 4’x4’ windows and (2) 2’x7’ openings.

Additional steel shop attributes include gutters and downspouts, which help prevent damage by diverting water away from the building’s foundation, and a 9.82-psf wind safety factor and a ground snow load of 49.5 pounds.
