Prefabricated Steel CrossFit Gymnasium Building in Higganum, Connecticut

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., manufactured and supplied this preconstructed steel gymnasium building on behalf of a customer in Higganum, Connecticut, in March of 2005.

These days, the building functions as a gym for CrossFit Ironworks, a veteran-owned gymnasium that operates a strength and conditioning program that combines elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, track and field and similar disciplines.

The facility, which attaches to an existing early 1900s structure already on the property, gives all first-time visitors a complimentary introductory session, and it offers a variety of different membership plans visitors can choose from in accordance with their fitness levels and schedules.

Affordable, Multifunctional Metal Athletic Buildings

Often used as gyms, gymnastics facilities, indoor tennis courts, riding arenas and more, steel athletic and recreational buildings combine easy customization with optimal strength and durability. They are also typically much lower-maintenance than wood alternatives, because the exteriors are not prone to cracking, warping or rotting, which can result in substantial savings for the building owner over time.

This particular metal gymnasium provides a safe, all-season space for athletes and members to hone their skills and build their strength while keeping them out of the rain, snow, heat and cold. In addition to giving Connecticut residents a year-round place to work out, the facility also frequently hosts birthday parties for area youths where they can enjoy rope swings, climbing walls, a zip line and more.

A small village located within the town of Haddam, Higganum is a part of Connecticut’s Middlesex County. The community sits just south of Middletown and roughly 23 miles south of Hartford.
