Sprat Safety Training Facility in Bristol, Rhode Island

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., manufactured and supplied this pre-engineered steel building on behalf of a customer in Bristol, Rhode Island, in April of 2006.

Offering unmatched strength and durability, the building now functions as a safety training facility for KONG USA, which manufactures climbing, safety and rescue equipment for athletic, professional and emergency and technical rescue efforts. Launched in 1981, the company now offers a variety of safety training opportunities out of this particular steel building, guiding participants through SPRAT and rope access training efforts, among others.

Enhancing Safety for Athletes & Climbing Enthusiasts

The only facility to offer the SPRAT training needed for certification in New England, KONG USA helps train employees for work in construction, logging, tower-climbing, rescue and solar efforts. In addition to giving climbers a climate-controlled, all-season space where they can hone their skills, this particular steel climbing facility gives athletes and professionals a place to try out the latest KONG equipment under the instruction of company employees and in the safety of a controlled environment.

Part of eastern Rhode Island’s Bristol County, the town of Bristol sits just east of Narragansett Bay. The community lies about 27 miles outside Warwick, by car, and about 18 miles from Providence.
