Shop Building in Westfield, Massachusetts
Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc. was pleased to manufacture and provide this pre-engineered steel building for a customer in Westfield, Massachusetts, in December of 2016.
Nowadays, the rugged, hardwearing steel building serves as a shop, and the owner purchased it with the intent of using it as a rental property. Comprised of the strongest available steel components, the metal workshop offers unmatched durability, and it is also highly versatile, which helps it appeal and attract tenants from a broad range of industries.
Preconstructed Steel Workshop Specifications
Because all building components arrived at the build site in clearly marked, ready-to-erect pieces, the process of raising this building was faster and more affordable than it would typically be for a wooden structure. Once raised, this steel shop boasts a finished size of 50’x95’x14’, and a robust, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 1:12 pitch sits overhead, protecting the shop’s interior.
Distributed throughout the metal workshop are (4) framed openings, among them (2) openings enclosing (2) field-located doors and (2) 10’x10’ overhead openings, each enclosing one of (2) 10’x10’ overhead doors. Additional key features and characteristics include several accommodations made in adherence to local building codes, among them a 115-mph wind speed rating and a 35.5-pound snow load.
Affordable, Adaptable Shops, Garages & Industrial Buildings
Because of their economical and versatile nature, prefabricated metal buildings are a common choice among those looking to become landlords and earn income through renting commercial properties. Rugged, durable and highly resistant to damage caused by wind, snow, termites and other construction hazards, steel workshops are also easily customizable in terms of insulation, lighting, ventilation, work bays, windows and more, making them ideal work environments for many types of businesses.
This particular steel shop provides a steady stream of revenue for the owner by serving as a rental, and the building itself is easily adaptable, should the need ever develop to expand or change its size. Situated within southwestern Massachusetts’ Pioneer Valley, the city of Westfield is a part of Campden County. Part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area, Westfield sits just south of Southampton, just north of Southwick and just east of Russell.
