Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc. was pleased to supply this pre-engineered metal building on behalf of a client in Poplar, Montana, in October of 2006.
Currently, the rugged, low-maintenance metal building functions as the warehouse and headquarters for Fort Peck Tech Services, a tribal company that provides a variety of assembly and production services for the U.S. Department of Defense and the oil industry. Durable, economical and engineered to holds its own in Montana’s sometimes harsh, unpredictable climate, the warehouse and corporate headquarters offers a functional, easily adaptable production and storage space and an efficient, accommodating work area for employees.
Comprised exclusively from top-quality steel components, the warehouse and corporate headquarters stands 61’x19’x12’ once fully erect. A hardwearing, corrosion-resistant Galvalume roof with a 1:12 pitch provides protection from above, and (5) framed openings serve as additional features, enhancing accessibility for Fort Peck Tech Service workers. Included are (2) 3’4”x7’2” walk door openings and (3) 3’x3’ window openings that allow natural sunlight into the space.
The company headquarters also features several specifications added with regard for the climate characteristics of the Poplar area, among them a 115-mph wind speed rating and a 14-psf snow load.
A Robust, Reliable Production & Storage Space
In addition to offering unmatched strength and versatility, the prefabricated commercial metal building boasts a broad, clear-span design with minimal obstructions, making it ideal for producing goods as well as storing them. Steel buildings have long been popular among business owners across Montana and the West, many of whom use them for storage, manufacturing and other commercial purposes. With this facility, Fort Peck Tech Services is able to better accommodate its defense, oil industry and other clients by allowing it to conduct all operations within a single location, enhancing quality control and improving communications.
A small, sparsely populated community located within northeastern Montana’s Roosevelt County, Poplar is home to the tribal law enforcement agency and courthouse for the Fort Peck Sioux and Assiniboine tribes. The community lies about 21 miles east of Wolf Point and about 6 miles west of Sprole.
