Pre-Engineered Steel Winery Building in Kelseyville, California

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., had the pleasure of fabricating and supplying this pre-engineered steel building for a customer in Kelseyville, California, in March of 1998.

These days, the durable, sustainable steel building serves as a winery on the grounds of Steele Wines & Tasting Room, a Kelseyville-based wine business that produces a broad range of red, white and other wine blends. Situated about 2.5 hours outside San Francisco, the winery first came to be in 1991, when owner Jed Steele decided to devote his considerable wine and grape-growing expertise to launching and operating his own winery. A trusted authority on the California wine-growing scene, Jed has helped countless other enthusiasts establish and expand their own California grape-growing and wine-producing operations.

A California Wine Country Authority

Considered one of the forefathers of the American Viticultural Areas of Mendocino and Lake County, Steele Wines Owner Jed Steele has helped Northern California grown from a relatively small wine-producing region to one of the nation’s largest and most desirable. This particular steel winery building has housed Steel Wines’ wine-producing operations for more than two decades, allowing the owner to boost production and oversee quality control of the wine produced at the expansive property.

Located within Northern California’s Lake County, Kelseyville is a census-designated area and part of the North Coast American Viticultural Area. The community sits about 6 miles southeast of Lakeport and about 100 miles, as the crow flies, from San Francisco.
