Pre-Engineered Steel Storage in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Sunward Steel Buildings, Inc., manufactured and provided this pre-engineered steel building for a customer in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in January of 2007.

These days, the building functions as a storage facility for Tulsa’s Heat Transfer Equipment Company, which manufactures heat exchangers for use in heating, cooling and related processes. In addition to producing complete shell and tube heat exchangers, the company performs a wide range of repair and replacement services, repairing existing equipment and replacing tube bundles, channels, shells, shell covers, gaskets and other components used in heat exchanger production.

Building Specifications

Featuring rugged, reliable steel construction, the metal storage building stands 20’x210’x17.55-18.33’ in size once erect, and it features a striking, Stone Beige exterior and a matching Stone Beige roof. The heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant metal roof has a 0.5:12 pitch, and the building boasts a number of key customizations throughout, including (24) 8’-6.5” translucent wall panels.

The steel storage building also features (11) framed openings, among them (3) 3070 walk door openings, enclosing (3) 3070 walk doors, (1) 10’x14’ overhead opening, (4) 28’x16’ overhead openings and (2) 20’x16’ overhead openings. A 90-mph wind speed rating and a 10-pound snow load serve as supplemental features added with respect for the climate characteristics and building code requirements in place across Tulsa.

The metal storage building also features several customizations added to help prevent moisture from pooling on top of the roof or near the building’s foundation, among them a 6” Burnished Slate-colored eave gutter and 120 linear feet of matching 5” downspouts.
